301 Moved Permanently
Only 3km from the heart of the city, Albert Park is popular for a range of activities like dog walking, jogging, cycling, sailing and rowing.
Apart from the lake itself, other attractions include sporting facilities, ovals, playgrounds, restaurants and a 5km walking and running track. Sporting facilities include a golf driving range, gymnasium and the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Enjoy a barbecue or picnic with the family. Hire a boat and explore the lake. Walk, cycle or jog around the track, past green lawns and playing fields.
All profits raised from parking are put back into Albert Park.
Organising an event at Albert Park
A wide variety of events are held at Albert Park throughout the year, with the peak period during the summer months. Events range from fun runs, sporting tournaments, international and national level of competition.
Albert Park is on Crown Land, therefore it’s managed under the Crown Land Reserves Act 1978. Under the Act a person must not conduct an organised event unless in accordance with a permit issued by the Committee of Management (Parks Victoria).
To enable Parks Victoria to prepare for the demand on the park an Expression of Interest process is undertaken annually, in line with the financial year, to hold events at Albert Park. The calendar allows Parks Victoria to set down public events, inform stakeholders of scheduled events and associated road closures, thus avoiding potential clashes with tenant activities. The Albert Park Events Calendar 2019-20 (PDF) is available. Information about the annual Expression of Interest Program is available in the Event permits section of the website.
For further information about hosting an event at Albert Park, please contact Parks Victoria’s Statewide Events Branch on 13 1963 or firstname.lastname@example.org
